Don't Feed the Animals

We went to U Village to run some errands, so of course we had to stop at the play area. I was ready to pass out from low blood sugar, and desperate to go have lunch, but not even the promise of a brownie from the bakery could lure him away from the playground, so I amused myself by taking photos until he was ready to go.

All I wanted was a nice photo of my son and his grandparents. This is what I got. (I wish I could post larger versions of these so you could appreciate them fully, but alas.)

Then I handed the camera to my child, who promptly did this:

Which is miles better than any of the ones I took. Of course, we were all HOLDING STILL and smiling naturally at the five-year-old holding the big camera—so never mind that his shot is more elegantly composed and more in focus than any of mine, I think we can all agree that HE WAS CHEATING.

This is what summer has come to.

We’ve done every possible warm-weather activity we can think of, and now we’re tired. Way too tired to even CONSIDER putting a shirt on, even though it’s well past noon. A SHIRT WOULD ONLY GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DROOL ON, MOM. HA.
